AraguaiaBiotech, the Biotech Innovation Laboratory (ABLIB), is an open genomic prototyping lab affiliated with UNEMAT, located in Nova Xavantina, Mato Grosso, at the transition between the Amazon and the Cerrado.
We combine next-generation sequencing (Illumina and Nanopore), advanced bioinformatics, and deep knowledge of Brazilian biomes to turn research into practical solutions for agriculture, conservation, and health.

ABLIB works across multiple integrated research lines, focused on applying genomic technologies to study the biodiversity of the Amazon and Cerrado.
Researchers dedicated to genomics, ecology, and biotechnology
PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology from Unicamp, with a background in Applied Mathematics (UNESP) and a Master's in Molecular Biophysics. Coordinates ABLIB, leading projects in genomics, transcriptomics, and metagenomics. Under his coordination, the lab has raised more than R$ 7 million in FINEP funding and consolidated its position as a biotechnology reference in the Amazon region.
PhD in Genetics from Unesp, working in genetics and molecular biology with a focus on conservation and biodiversity. Led the first complete mammalian genome assembly project in Mato Grosso, the vampire bat (Desmodus rotundus), in partnership with Embrapa and Unicamp.
